UK’s National Cyber Awards Crowns Darktrace PREVENT™ Technology ‘AI Cyber Product of the Year’
Darktrace Takes Home Accolade for Fourth Year Running and Presents ‘Cyber University of the Year’ Award in Annual Ceremony
Cambridge, UK – Tuesday, 27th September, 2022– Darktrace, a global leader in cyber security artificial intelligence, today announced that its PREVENT™ technology has been named ‘AI Cyber Product of the Year’ at the UK’s fourth annual National Cyber Awards.
Sponsored by UK government bodies such as the National Crime Agency (NCA) and the Ministry of Defence (MoD), the National Cyber Awards recognize individuals and organizations for achieving excellence in the cyber and digital sectors.
Darktrace took home the ‘AI Cyber Product of the Year’ award for the fourth year running, after winning in the category in 2019, 2020 and 2021. This year, the judges recognized Darktrace’s latest proactive security offering, released in July 2022, technology which uses AI to ‘think like an attacker’ and help organizations pre-empt future cyber-attacks.
Darktrace PREVENT™ is the third product area in Darktrace’s delivery of a Cyber AI Loop, the industry-first set of AI capabilities that work together autonomously to optimize an organization’s state of security through a continuous feedback loop. By finding pathways to an organization’s most critical assets from inside and outside, the technology continuously analyzes the most disruptive attacks for an organization and feeds that information back into Darktrace’s DETECT™ and RESPOND™ to support continuous learning and autonomously harden systems.
Darktrace also sponsored and presented the ‘Cyber University of the Year’ award, which recognizes universities that are committed to achieving excellence in cyber. The award was presented jointly to the University of Wolverhampton and the University of South Wales by Darktrace’s Global Head of Threat Analysis, Toby Lewis, and Head of Threat Research, Hanah-Marie Darley, at the ceremony.
“The best way to tackle the ongoing shortage in cyber skills is to combine best-in-class education and training with cutting-edge technology that helps to both bridge the gap and allow the limited human resources to focus on those more complex challenges that benefit from human input,” commented Toby Lewis, Global Head of Threat Analysis, Darktrace. “The National Cyber Awards represent an important effort to celebrate the people behind these programs and innovations.”
He continued: “It is an honor to be able to recognize the amazing contributions to tackling this challenge, and to be recognized ourselves for Darktrace’s commitment to providing defenders with technology that helps them to scale and focus their already stretched people."
