JFCCT (Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand) and EABC
Bob is a seasoned global and regional senior executive with MNC, SME and Start Up experience. He currently has a regional trade and investment advisory business. Regulatory, technology management, digitalisation and market entry challenges are his forte.
He has advocated for digital literacy, higher levels of understanding of the cyber world and its risks for a long time and steps to protect against threats.. He has published about ransomware and policy responses and was involved with the development of data privacy in Thailand since 2015, and earlier in Singapore and Malaysia, and with changes to Copyright and Computer Crimes legislation in Thailand.
He has been and is very active in business community advocacy in Thailand and the region, having developed plans and policy recommendations on about 15 areas of business, investment, trade and the economy and has devised and run many conferences. With JFCCT he is Chair, Digital Economy/ICT Committee and JFCCT Policy Co-Ordinator; Chair Climate Working Group of JFCCT Sustainable Development Committee; For EABC (European Chamber of Commerce Thailand) he is Board Director and Chair, Digital Economy/ICT Working Group. EU-ASEAN Business Council (regional – Singapore HQ): Supervisory Board member. He has been and is key architect, editor and contributor for many JFCCT policy positions, and the European Business Position Paper 2022 and earlier editions.
Work History (MNC, SME and Start Up) also includes group CEO of one of Malaysia’s largest listed companies, Regional Director Asia Pac for BT (British Telecom) a founder and shareholder representative of Starhub Singapore, and similar roles for a listed NASDAQ broadband services company, an Israeli-US analytics company and Swiss headquartered digital platform content provider and other new market entry roles in the Middle East and S E Asia. He was project director and main board (University Council) member for Bond University Australia (now in its 34th year) and practiced law with Baker & McKenzie for some years. He is a frequent conference speaker and moderator and has taught at six universities in Thailand and the region.
Educational Qualifications include BA LLB (UNSW) admitted in four jurisdictions, Master’s - Stanford University Graduate School of Business (Sloan Fellow), Various ICT, stock exchange and director certifications, Mediator certified by THAC (Thailand Arbitration Centre); AFS Scholar,
