Emil Tan is currently the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Red Alpha Cybersecurity — a cybersecurity talent development company —and the Regional Advocate for CREST in Asia. Emil has been in the cybersecurity industry for more than ten years, with experience in many cybersecurity trades — including R&D, cybersecurity operations, governance, policy and regulations, and consultancy. Emil is an active contributor to the cybersecurity ecosystem in Singapore. He plays an active role in catalysing cybersecurity conversations and thought leadership locally and internationally. He founded Division Zero (Div0) — Singapore’s largest techno-centric cybersecurity community group —and Infosec In the City, SINCON — Singapore’s international techno-centric cybersecurity conference. He is also a key Council member of the Global Cybersecurity Camp (GCC) — a cybersecurity talent development camp organised by leading communities and institutes globally and chairs the Cyber Youth Singapore (CYS) — a local cybersecurity youth organisation. Emil leads The Honeynet Project, Singapore Chapter — a non-profit cybersecurity R&D institution, and he is also an Executive Committee Member of Singapore Computer Society (SCS) Cybersecurity Chapter. In recognition of Emil's contributions, he was awarded the inaugural Cybersecurity Awards (Professional Category) in 2018 by the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA).
